The gas powered mini bike
The gas powered mini bike generally features a 49cc 2-stroke air-cooled engine with a ratio of 25:1, a tank size from 1.2 to 2.0 Liters. Not your typical street bike, these little zippers are built for the fast growing sport of minimoto track racing. You’ll find them in every color you can imagine accompanied with decal packs to add to their powder paint jobs or high gloss finishes.
Jokingly called “knee scrapers” because of their short stature (most max out at two feet high!), the mini gas bike is proof that great things can come in little packages. Lengths range from 38 to 50 inches. At first glance, their size might seem like a limitation, but don’t let that fool you! The gas-powered minibike is high-riding, freewheeling fun! Classic cycle styling packs power into every twist of the mini gas bike throttle. Also known as pocket rockets, it’s easy to see why. The gas-powered minibike quickly rockets to a max speed of 35 MPH and with modification, some have reached 60 MPH.
One recent addition to the gas powered pocket bike line up is the chopper pocket rocket. The traditional Harley look is no mere imitation of the mini bike’s big brother. Features like front and back disc brakes, drag-style seats, aluminum alloyed wheels, chromed frames over TIG welded steel carbon, and chrome forks with a 45 degree front rake make this little fellow an awesome sight and one terrific ride!
Other popular gas powered minibikes include the “Fiddy” or Honda XR50, which almost dominated the market on take-off, and the Kikker 5150 “Phatty”. The Kikker is built of hand-laid fiberglass and weighs in at just 40 pounds but can still carry a payload up to 250lbs.
These gas powered pocket rockets aren’t kiddie cars. At load capacities of up to three times their weight (average weight of steel frame bikes is between 80 and 90 pounds), they are built for teens and adult riders who are serious about their sport and their machine!

also leaves plenty of room for customization. A full line of accessories includes tank pouches, saddlebags, headlights, custom rims, wheels and more!
One of the most appealing elements of the pocket bike is that it provides affordable fun. Although there are high-end bikes at over $3,000.00, average prices start under $300.00 and you’ll typically find a full featured gas powered mini bike in the $500.00 to $600.00 price range.
