Domestic or Foreign? - Minibike Imports

There are many options when selecting a minibike. One of those options is choosing between domestic minibikes, or minibike imports. It could be like comparing apples and oranges in some cases. Some minibike imports aren't worth anything, while others cannot be topped.

There are many fine American made minibikes, such as Manco minibikes, but there are many fine minibike imports as well. However, unlike cars, the minibike imports cost more than American made minibikes in most cases - and some of them can't even top the cheaper American made minibikes. In most cases, a minibike import isn't any better or worse than an American minibike. However, the cost of the bike goes up simply because it is an import.

Minibikes are made all over the world. China, Italy, Japan, the US, Australia, and Canada all produce minibikes. Overall, the ones from Italy are probably the most expensive - and they are great bikes that are often superior to any other minibikes. However, at the cost of an Italian bike, you could probably have a custom built American bike that performs even better.

Minibike imports can be purchased in the United States, instead of ordering the minibike from the country it was manufactured in. You may find, however, that the price of purchasing the minibike in the United States is higher than if you ordered directly from the manufacturer due to the markup.

If you have your heart set on minibike imports, be sure that you will be able to get both parts and service for the bike in the country that you live in. Often, ordering parts from overseas costs a great deal of money and inconvenience, and if you don't know how to repair the bike, you may have a big problem!
