Minibike Wheel Sprockets

When it comes to minibikes, just any old minibike wheel sprockets won't do. You need to know what minibike wheel sprockets work best for different situations, and make sure you are using the correct ones for the best performance! Not all minibike wheel sprockets are suitable for all situations - or all minibikes.

Different size sprockets produce different results as well. For instance, replacing a front sprocket with a larger sprocket should result in more speed for a given engine rpm. The same thing happens if you replace a rear sprocket with a smaller sprocket. The reverse happens when you put a smaller front sprocket or a larger rear sprocket on your minibike - you get less speed for given rpm's.

Plated steel sprockets are the right choice if you want durability, but aluminum wheel sprockets will make your bike a little lighter, which will be important if you will be doing a lot of jumping, or if you need a little extra speed. Aluminum will wear out faster than plated steel, of course, so make it a habit to clean your chain and sprockets after each ride. Oil the chain, and inspect both the chain and the sprockets for wear.

Finally, no matter which type of minibike wheel sprockets you choose make sure that the alignment is exactly parallel for all sprockets to help prevent excessive wear, and to keep the chain from jumping. To ensure that you aren't running with worn out parts, when you can no longer tighten the chain satisfactorily, it is time to purchase a new chain and new minibike wheel sprockets.
