Make Your Minibike Wheels Shine!
The minibike wheels are almost as important as the engine - but in terms of care, the minibike wheels are often ignored. Not only does this make the minibike look bad, it also means that you will have to buy new minibike wheels much sooner!
This can be avoided by taking some simple steps to ensure that your minibike - and your minibike wheels are well cared for. The wheels will last longer, and definitely look better - at least at the beginning of your ride.
After your ride, however, make sure you hose off the minibike, paying special attention to the wheels. Purchase a cheap scrub brush that you can go over the wheels with while spraying the water to loosen any debris that is on the wheels. Once you are finished getting all the dirt, mud, and other debris off the wheels, dry them off as well as you can.
If you leave them caked with mud, or leave them wet, you are risking rust. Furthermore, if speed is an issue, you don't want your wheels caked up with dried mud - mud can get heavy.
About once a month, apply a coat of wax to your wheels, or polish them with some chrome or aluminum polish - never apply chrome polish to aluminum wheels! It can eat up the aluminum. Use aluminum polish for aluminum wheels, and chrome polish for chrome wheels.
Make all of this a habit, and each time before you ride, your minibike wheels will shine - and they will definitely last for several years. Furthermore, if you have a flat, get off the minibike and push. Never ride the minibike with a flat, as you can - and probably will - damage the minibike wheel.
