Pocket bike racing

Enthusiasm for pocket bike racing is spreading across the world almost faster than these little pocket racers can travel themselves! A growing number of racetracks and go-kart tracks hold pocket bike races that are open to racers of various ages and skill levels.

Pocket racers, AKA minimoto and pocket rocket, are miniature size GP Racing motorcycles. Pocket bike racing may well be the fastest growing sport of our time! Originally used as pit-bikes, these tiny dynamos are now out of the pits and on the track with racing leagues, clubs, and associations of their own.

Pocket bike racing has seen phenomenal growth in the last couple of years with good reason. An exciting sport for both spectators and participants, pocket racers used by even junior class riders can reach speeds of over 35MPH. The average stock bike quickly accelerates to 45MPH and open class machines nearly fly at 50MPH! Dave Meyer of Virginia holds the current US speed record at a screaming 68 mph.

Although pocket bike racing will put you on the edge of your seat (on the track or in the stands!), it won’t make you keel over with sticker shock! It’s one of the least expensive forms of motor sports with high quality bikes available for as little as $500.00. Moreover, these small bikes are easy to customize and maintain, giving pocket racers the opportunity of creating a real rad ride!
